LAWYER 'DELIGHTED' TO BE UP FOR AWARD
A lawyer from Folkestone has been shortlisted for the Human Rights Lawyer of the Year award. Richard Charlton is a mental health and mental capacity specialist at R Charlton Solicitors. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony hosted by BBC Radio 4 Today presenter Mishal Hussain on October 22 at the Hilton Park Lane Hotel, London.
Mr Charlton said: 'I am delighted to be shortlisted for these awards especially given the high quality of the other entrants.'
He was selected as the first Legal Aid Mental Health Lawyer in 2004 and chaired the Mental Health Lawyers Association from 2001 to 2014. He became the president of the association in 2014.
